About this independent tour

This is a private itinerary including a private transfers and local English-speaking tour guides for excursions and sightseeing. The itinerary is completely flexible, so you can choose your number of nights, change hotel category, add excursions and extend your holiday. There is an option of including meals wherever desired. Please fill the form at the end of the itinerary for any changes and tailor the tour according to your need basis.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1

Welcome to Mumbai

  • After arriving at Mumbai International Airport our representative will meet you as you exit and transfer you to your hotel.
  • Mumbai is the commercial capital of India. It is also known as the city that never sleeps.
  • Mumbai is the perfect blend of culture, customs and lifestyles. Overnight at the hotel.
  • After leisurely breakfast, morning is at leisure to recuperate from the Jet lag.
  • In the afternoon you will proceed for the short city tour. Your first stop is the Gateway of India.
  • Your first stop will be the Jain Temples, built of marble and dedicated to the first Jain Tirthankara.
  • You will be then driven along Marine Drive, the sea - Front Boulevard.
  • Come back to your hotel after your tour. Overnight at the hotel

Day 2

In Mumbai

  • After breakfast you will driven to Gateway of India where you will board Motor boat to precede for an excursion to Elephanta Caves.
  • After your excursion you will be driven back to Gateway of India by the motor boat from where you will be transferred to your hotel.
  • The remainder of the day is free for independent activities. Overnight at the hotel

Day 3

Mumbai – Darjeeling

  • Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel.
  • Often called the Queen of the Himalayas, Darjeeling affords unparalleled view of these majestic mountains.
  • Reminder of the day will be at leisure.
  • Dinner and Overnight at the hotel

Day 4

In Darjeeling

  • Early morning after a cup of tea, you will visit Tiger Hill before the break of dawn, to see the sun rise over Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world.
  • On your way back stop at the Ghoom Monastery, the holiest monastery in Darjeeling.
  • After breakfast, you will be driven to the Darjeeling Railway station to board train –Return to your hotel for buffet breakfast.
  • Darjeeling Himalayan Railway
  • Later return to Darjeeling city for a tea ritual at Windamere hotel.
  • Dinner and Overnight at the hotel

Day 5

Darjeeling – Gangtok

  • After breakfast, you will be driven to Gangtok (98 KMS / 4 Hours). You will continue your journey to Gangtok through the Tista river valley.
  • Gangtok is Sikkim's largest city. It served as the royal administrative seat of the Kingdom of Sikkim from 1894 to 1975.
  • Lunch, Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 6

In Gangtok

  • After breakfast, you will be driven to Rumtek Monastery, the seat of the Karmapa Rinpoche, head of the Karmapa sub-sect of the Kargyudpa order of Tibetan Buddhism.
  • Later proceed to visit the Enchey Monastery – an important seat of the Nyingmapa order, the Enchey Monastery is built on the site blessed by Lama DruptokKarpo.
  • Your visits of the day ends with the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology
  • The most prestigious of its kind in India, this Buddhist institute is a treasure of vast collection of rare Lepcha, Tibetan & Sanskrit manuscripts.
  • After lunch remainder of the day is at at leisure or free for shopping at the local market.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 7

Gangtok – Kalimpong

  • Early this morning you will be driven 6 KMS to Tashi View Point, a beautiful place with magnificent panoramic views of Mount Kangchenjunga.
  • After breakfast, you will be driven to Kalimpong. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel.
  • Kalimpong, once the headquarter of the Bhutanese Governor. After checking into your hotel and having lunch, we will visit several flower nurseries.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 8

Kalimpong – Phuentsholing

  • After breakfast, you will be driven from Kamilpong to Phuentsholing (140 Kms / 06 Hours). Upon arrival proceed for check-in at your hotel.
  • After buffet lunch, reminder of the day is at leisure.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 9

Phuentsholing – Thimpu

  • After an early breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven from Phuentsholing to Thimphu (176 KMS/ 7 Hours). En-route you will visit Kharbandi Monastery.
  • Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel.
  • After buffet lunch, reminder of the day is at leisure.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 10

Thimpu

  • After breakfast you will proceed for visit to Trashichhodzong - the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the Government's office and King's Throne room.
  • After lunch, visit the National Memorial Chorten. The building of this landmark was originally envisaged by Bhutan’s third king, His Majesty JigmeDorjiWangchuk who has wished to erect monument to world peace and prosperity.
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 11

Thimpu–Paro

  • After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven from Thimphu to Paro (60 Kms/ 02 Hours) Upon arrival in Paro, check into the hotel.
  • Later you will be drive up the valley to view the ruins of DrukgyelDzong, 18 km from Paro town on the northern side of the valley.
  • While return to Paro town visit en route KyichuLhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of the Kingdom.
  • After lunch at the hotel, visit the Ta-Dzong (National Museum)
  • Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Day 12

Paro

  • After buffet breakfast, you will hike to visit magical monastery known as Taktsang (the “Tiger’s Nest). On our way Taktsag, we will see the famous 7th century KyichuLhakhang.
  • The path takes us through a forest of oak, blue pine and rhododendron, arriving at a small chorten surrounded by prayer flags . With a little more effort, we will reach a teahouse and a spectacular view of the Taktsang temples
  • After visit return to your hotel for buffet lunch following which remainder of the day is at leisure
  • Dinner and Overnight Hotel

Day 13

Paro– Kathmandu

  • You will arrive at Kathmandu airport. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to hotel, where you will proceed for check-in.
  • Later, you will proceed for sightseeing tour of Pasupatinath, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu city.
  • Continue to visit Kathmandu city with its many beautiful temples and courtyards.
  • The major tourist attractions on this tour includes a visit to the Hanuman Dhoka which takes its name from the Monkey God, Hanuman from the epic.
  • Return to your hotel after sightseeing tour. Overnight at the hotel

Day 14

Kathmandu - Delhi – Mumbai

  • After breakfast at hotel, morning is at leisure.
  • Later in time our representative will meet you in the hotel lobby and transfer you to airport to board your flight for Delhi/Mumbai
  • Representative will receive you and transfer you to Delhi’s domestic airport to board your flight for Mumbai.
  • Overnight at the hotel

Day 15

Mumbai

  • International airport to board your flight for back home.
  • Later in time our representative will meet you in the hotel lobby and transfer you to
  • After buffet breakfast, morning is at leisure. Check out from your room .
